How much does website malware removal cost?

Reputable providers quote a fixed figure after a quick assessment, before any work starts.
What decides the price?
Five factors move the number more than anything else:
- Site size. More pages, plugins and files mean more places to inspect and verify. A big WooCommerce store takes longer than a brochure site, and time is the cost.

- Security plugin scans (free to ~€100/year). Fine as triage. Scanners catch known malware but miss backdoors and database infections regularly, and a scanner running inside a compromised site can be lied to by the malware around it.
- Big platform subscriptions (~€200 to €500/year). Services like the well-known US security platforms bundle cleanup with a yearly plan. The cleans are remote and template-driven; fine for commodity infections, less thorough on the weird ones, and the subscription renews whether you need it again or not.
- "€50 fix" freelancers. Usually a scanner run plus deleting whatever it flags. The redirect comes back in a fortnight because the backdoor and entry point were never touched. The most expensive clean is the one you pay for twice.
The pattern: cheap options remove what a scanner can see. What keeps sites clean is removing what it cannot, the backdoors and the entry point, and that is manual work by someone who knows where to look.

Is malware removal a one-off cost or a subscription?
