Case study · Haulage & Crane Hire
McCabe Transport
A website as hard-working as the fleet: quick to load, easy to run, and built to bring in both freight enquiries and drivers.
Logicode Digital designed and built the website for McCabe Transport, a family-run haulage and crane hire company in Cootehill, Co. Cavan. The custom-coded site launched in 2026 with a perfect 100/100/100/100 Google Lighthouse score on mobile, online driver recruitment, and local search optimisation for haulage and crane hire across Ireland.
The brief
McCabe Transport has been moving freight around Ireland since 1977, but the business had no website to match. They needed somewhere that showed the scale of the fleet, explained general haulage and crane hire clearly, and made it easy for customers to get a quote. Just as pressing was recruitment: drivers are hard to find, and applications were arriving by phone and word of mouth with nothing to point people at.
What we did
We built a hand-coded site with no templates or page-builders, so it loads fast and needs very little upkeep. Real photography from the yard carries the whole design rather than stock imagery. A four-step application form turns driver recruitment into something that runs itself, and an admin area lets the team post updates and manage content without touching code. The build was audited for performance, accessibility and security before it went anywhere near the public.
Measured performance
Fast, and provably so.
Real Google Lighthouse scores for the live site, not estimates. Anyone can re-run these.

Desktop
Google Lighthouse, tested 18 July 2026. Scores vary a little with network and device; core web vitals are the numbers that reach real visitors.
Security
Built to stay locked down.
Every site we build is audited before launch and hardened as standard. Here is what that means in practice for this one.
- Independently audited before launch with zero known vulnerabilities
- Staff accounts protected by two-factor authentication
- No server files, settings or source code reachable from the web
- Encrypted connection across every page, enforced automatically
- Application and enquiry data stored securely, never in plain files
- Layered spam filtering on all forms, with no third-party tracking
- Automatic off-site backups, with a tested restore path
- Kept patched under an ongoing care plan
Search & visibility
Built to be found.
Technical SEO is part of the build, not an upsell afterwards, so the site launches ready to rank and ready to be quoted by AI search.
- Structured data telling search engines exactly what the business does and where
- Targeted at real demand: haulage, crane hire and Hiab hire across Ireland
- Written titles and descriptions on every page, never auto-generated
- A sitemap that updates itself as pages are added
- Clean heading structure and descriptive alt text on every image
- Answer-shaped content so AI search engines can quote the business correctly
- Verified in Google Search Console and Google Analytics from day one
Design & brand
Styled around the business.
The design takes its cue from the fleet itself: the deep green and gold of the trucks, set against real photography from the yard in Cootehill. Nothing is stock. Big, plain typography does the talking because haulage buyers want the facts quickly, and the "49 years on Irish roads" line earns its place in the hero because it is the strongest thing the business can say about itself.
